Hi I am graduating from University next year from America and looking for an opportunity to gain experience in museum studies, finding it hard to locate actual vacancies and what not!

Internships in museums seem to be hard found from what i've tried so far! Any information or advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated!!

Are you looking for internships in Ireland? They are almost impossible to get particularly now as any available positions are being advertised through Jobbridge.

You could contact the National Museum or make a list of all the museums in Ireland and contact them individually outlining your experience and how you could help them. Just don't expect to get paid.

    U.K. would have a better market. Check indeed.com, jobs.ac.uk and www.museumjobs.com

If you are determined to work in Ireland I think contacting individual institutions and asking them if you can volunteer is the best way forward.

    Thanks guys,

Started ringing up a few places... some things going it seems. But not all that much, they seem reluctant giving info on potential internships out too.

Have a friends working with the department of arts although not sure it'l do all that good as alot of these seem to be "Jobbridge" related!
