    Hi guys,

I have been working in a help desk role for the last year and have learnt alot so far. I dont think there is much room for salary increase so I want to change the path I am going in. I want to do whatever exams I need and then start job hunting again. I was thinking of doing a few microsoft exams in office 365 or virtual environments. That was just idea but I really dont know if there is any better topics to study in order to increase my chances of getting a well paying job? Some people are telling me to look into data basing, others are saying it security so im confused on what would be the most benifical!

Safest bets and most future prevalent would be the following areas / routes.

Networking - You will need a cisco certification
Business Intelligence - You could for example learn some SQL, and Oracle databases, get a starter job in a DB role and have the company pay for you to get certified.
Programming for the web - AngularJS (javascript), MVC, .Net, PHP, Ruby etc

    All the best!

This question comes up every week.

    A. What do you want to do
    B. What are you good at

Picking a random career direction based on a strangers advice is not a good idea.
