Some Very interesting gamepass decisions for the early slate of games. Saints/Lions and Panthers/Packers should both be good games.

giants Cowboys and 49ers/Broncos should both be very interesting too.

Very tough week to call. Not confident of the Bears, Colts, Lions, Packers, Falcons, Redskins, Cowboys, Broncos or Texans. All of those are 50/50 calls for me.

Most people understandably going with Denver on SNF. 49ers are pretty thin on defense this week and if Willis can't go that will be a huge loss, you'd have to imagine Manning will go after the young linebackers. could be a big day for Julius Thomas.

I think SF will stand up well against the run but are likely to struggle against the pass. In recent weeks they have struggled to bring pressure with out blitzing. If they don't get pressure on Manning he will tear them apart, if they bring pressure and leave one on one coverage that won't end well either.

Hard to see SF keeping the score down so it will be up to the offense to put up numbers. It's not impossible but it will take a big performance from a number of people on offense, run the ball well convert 3rd downs and finish drives with TD's rather than FG's.

All of which is easier said than done. A win here will setup SF very well heading into the bye but a defeat would open up a bit of a gap to Arizona and Seattle. Big game but the smart money must be on Denver.

Just in to pick the Pats now, will get back to the rest....Not 100% confident in that but hopefully the O line will hold up

I'll go with the Pats tonight.

Flash flood warnings still in effect, listed as being likely anyone from now until 10pm EST so if the first half is clear, the second half should be safe too... http://www.google.org/publicalerts/alert?aid=8752f3cd52e27cd&hl=en&gl=IE&source=web

Really heavy right now and has been since this morning. I live a town over from the stadium and it bucketing down right now. Supposed to lighten up over Gillette come game time but going to be a wet one for sure. Leaving soon going to make the tailgate fun.

Are you in the sticks? I used to be and it used to drive me nuts. Living in an urban area now with 50 megs down most of the time. A hell of a lot better off for it too.

Ya I'm in the sticks. It can hit 10Mbps when working well which isn't bad considering how remote I am. Speedtest now has me at 8Mbps and GP is working perfectly. 50megs is but a dream for me.:(

I dream of 8Mb. My broadband is 2Mb down and .2 Mb up (in theory!)

Who is this guy with the best YAC in the league, I give you Mr Brandon LaFell.

Verren you beauty, woohoo, what a start, go Patriots!!!! Suck it Jesters!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

Now that's how you start the game!!

Balls though, was tempted to take Vereen over 60.5 receiving/rushing yards but gave it a miss. :o

What a catch by Vereen. Usually a bit easier when wide open.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

If that's anything to go by, I reckon the Pats cover the 10pt spread easily. Jets offense is putrid, their secondary is pretty awful, and the Patriots line has held up nicely in those short few plays.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

Brandon Browner's a receiver now?

    Costly slip by McCourty.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Great start for Pats, but a nice response from the Jets. If they can get the running game going they might have a chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,370 ✭✭✭✭Son Of A Vidic

    Keeping missing the tackles lads.:(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

That's a costly penalty, but absolutely the right call.....big setback for Jets. Need to take all their chances tonight.

Another hold on the next snap, Nink held, no call.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,445 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

We held them, or they held themselves, to a field goal. Lets put another 7 on the board right here and make this fun!:)

What is going on, defense is in bits. The horrendous Jets offense is having its way against us.

    Horrible run defense.

Pathetic drop by Amaro. Pass straight to him and wide open. Can't drop those in Foxborol

Yep, apart from 3 mistakes (blown coverage, 2 holding penalties in the redzone) it's been all Jets so far.....

.....bad drop that would have set them up nicely on third down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,445 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Gronk needs to get the right cleats on.

Yeah, stop giving the ball to Chris Johnson.

The NFL baffles me sometimes. How can the Jets have put in the display they did in San Diego a couple of weeks ago?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,404 ✭✭✭spiritcrusher

Jets Redzone offense gonna cost them big time. Excellent at driving down the field but as it begins to shorten near the endzone they ain't putting it in there. Once the Patriots start firing they'll punish them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

The Patriots are giving Brady a great pocket to throw out of. The Jets gave the Broncos all sorts of problems with the pass rush last week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,370 ✭✭✭✭Son Of A Vidic

Ball goes to Amendola and he does nothing...........as usual.
