Looking at a place to rent near botanical gardins in Glasnevin but just wondering how long it would take to get into the the city centre for 9?am also looking at a place in lucan which is supposed to be 45minutes in rush hour and is a good bit cheaper than the glasnevin place so would be the preferred but if Glasnevin would be a good bit shorter Id probably go there! any advice would be great!

My friends lives on Mobhi Road and bikes it in about 15 mins to town taking it easy. The buses are fairly slow as there is so many stops together in Glasnevin and junction at canal, can cause delays. But a taxi home from town is less than €10. I would live in Glasnevin over Lucan. Glasnevin has tons of buses running through it

You must be a fast walker to get from botanic gardens to o'connell st in 15 minutes, I would say more like 25 minutes. Stephen's green allow around 40 mins walking.

At least you can walk into town from Glasnevin walking from Lucan is not really an option. The bus service from Glasnevin is pretty good, with frequent buses into town. Phibsboro can be a bit slow in rush hour but usually looks worse than it is.
