Electrolux Dishwasher - running but no water

    Hi there,

I am looking for some advice regarding our household dishwasher. The model is an Electrolux ESL624 and has been working fine for several years (10yrs approx)

Today for some unknown reason the dishwasher stopped working. When you turn on the dishwasher I can hear the usual sound of the motor turning over but after about a minute this stops and the wash cycle does not progress.

It appears that there is no water getting in and as a result the wash cycle is tripping out.

Any suggestions what my problem may be and is it a DIY fix or am I looking at a professional repair or a new replacement ?

Any suggestions or assistance is greatly appreciated

    Thanks
    The Celtictiger

Blockage maybe? I think dishwashers pump out water before letting fresh water in (could be wrong).

    Thanks byte,

I eventually managed to get it working.

I pulled out the dishwasher, disconnected the hose & removed the panel at the back where the hose connected to the dishwasher.
There was a filter immediately behind the panel so I disconnected the electrics and the internal water hose but did not see any build of grit or dirt that may have been preventing the water intake.

I put back on the filter and reconnected the electrics and surprisingly after turning the dishwasher back on everything was working as normal.

Not sure what I did that fixed problem or even if this fix will be short lived but fingers crossed it is working now.

    Regards,

Hard to know, maybe a poor electrical connection that was remedied by you removing and replacing.

Anyway it's working, hope it stays that way!
