Ryanair Hand Luggage - portable fan allowed?

    Does anyone know if your allowed to bring a portable fan as hand luggage or am I better off putting it in my checked luggage?

    You won't have a problem with security, it's nothing more than an electric motor. Decide based on weight.

    thanks. wasnt sure if they would regard it as a weapon due to plastic blades
