    Hi Lads,

I recently moved up to clane and was wondering if there are any driving ranges around that i could pass a few hours on over the winter?

    Cheers

Hi - welcome to the area!

There is a good range opposite Naas GC about fifteen minutes drive from Clane or about three minutes beyond that you could use the range area in Palmerstown Stud at Johnstown.

On the other side of you, there is a good golf range and shop in Celbridge not a million miles away on the right hand side out the Dublin Road.

    Not sure about anywhere else.

Doesn't Millicent have a practice area off to the right of the first tee

Red lane has a decent driving range thats flood lit and open til about 10pm, its on the Naas/Newbridge road across from Toughers garage.

The driving ranges around Naas, and by that I mean the entire country, are rubbish and sub-standard. They use rubbish balls, you hit them off oversized tees on astro- turf and the yardage/metre markers are all over the place. If all you want to do is limber up, do it in the back garden. If you are looking to improve your game, play golf and leave these places well alone.
