    Very quiet in here OP!
Best I can give is a bit of generic advice, obviously you know it will be thirsty. Has it got a FSH, it's a must have on a big petrol (by Irish standards!).
I find honestjohn.co.uk quiet good for owner reviews and trouble points on cars.

A good few of the 2.4 litre models on sale here are grey imports from Australia. These have some odd specs on them and may not be identical to Irish spec models so some parts could be hard to source.

Power wise you would be better off sticking to the 2 litre for tax reasons, the 2.4 litre only has 11 extra hp than the 155hp in the 2 litre, not worth the extra expense unless ofcourse you are getting it for a song compared to a similar aged 2 litre.

True, car I was looking at was Australian import.I read Uk forums and most people voting for 2.4 engine, but they have better tax system.Still looking for the right one.Only thing putting me off 2.4 is tax...

The 2.4 comes with Xenon headlights, test before purchasing one that both the headlight washers work, this is done by turning on the lights and then using the windscreen washer. It's an NCT fail if they don't work and could be costly to replace the washers.

They where on the list, but been told I end up driving from petrol station to petrol station. Are they that bad ? 30 mpg?

They are a bit heavy on fuel but the other way to look at it is that it's a decent speced 2008 car for €5k. ;)

How much annual mileage will you be doing?

Its very true, that's why I was looking for one, they are incredibly cheap and have good spec. My mileage would be around 15 000 km. So what sort of mpg I should expect?

    Based on co2 from 2008 so €1200. A 2007 would be 710.
    Probably why it's so cheap.

That car was probably registered after 1st July 2008 which meant it automatically went on the new tax system. This is probably the reason it is selling for €5k. So try and find a pre 1st July 2008 model and it will €710 to tax. Mpg is probably mid twenties on them but I could not imagine the 2.4 Accord being any better.

If you are happy with the running costs of a 2.4 petrol then the Lexus IS250 is worth looking at.

Looking at one 07 next week.Owner claiming that average mpg is 9 ltr per 100 km that's should be around 30 mpg I think. You right about accord, owners claiming average 10 ltr per 100 km, depends how you drive:)

Good stuff. Just make sure to check the car over for signs of abuse. Being 4wd they can appeal to young lads who want to rally them. I'd also recommend joining one of the Irish Subaru owners web sites and ask them what sort of common problems they have.
