Hi, can anyone recommend an Android alternative to an iPod 5th gen with 32gb memory? Preferably something cheaper with similar functionality.

    Thanks.

I have a Cowon Z2, very nice device, screen is a bit small just excellent sound quality and its self-sustaining. Good battery life for music too, and a HDMI output which is useful. Speaker is weedy but with headphones its perfect. For audio alone it will not be beaten.
Google Play doesn't come installed, but apps can be side loaded with no issues
No camera either if that's important?

After that the Samsung Galaxy players are probably the best bet, but if the phones are anything to go by they're overpriced and underperforming. And Touchwiz is a pain.

If you pop over to the Chinese phone thread you could get a recommendation for a phone out of there, and just leave it SIM free
