Easier to drop boiler height or raise gutter?

    Hi

I'd really appreciate some help. We installed a new Vokera gas boiler 5yrs ago and have had nothing but issues with it, we had the Vokera engineer out the week it was installed and it has broken down at least once a yr sometimes twice every year since. Things came to a head last week when the pressure sensor went again (last replaced in Dec 13), they also replaced the control panel for the second time. Vokera are now saying that all these issues are due to the flue being installed incorrectly. That it is at an angle pointing downwards outside the house. It is also way too long in their opinion (it extends out over 2ft) and the white pipe/flue is not designed to be used externally only the black cap should be visable.

So we've a new flue coming this week and we need to get it installed, I'm not willing to allow the original installer anywhere near it so need to organise someone else, but we're also faced with either dropping the boiler height inside or raising the gutter outside to get the flue level. The boiler is in a single story utility room. Can anyone advise which is the easiest and cheapest option? We've spent so much on repairs to this boiler, we need to get it right this time all the above could be BS for all I know! So I'd appreciate any experience or opinions on this. And if anyone could give an estimation of costs? We're on the Kildare/Meath border and it would need to be a registered installer.

    TIA

TBH I think you best option in this scenario would be to ask Vokera for an installer to rectify the issue if they feel the flue has caused these problems (I have reservations, but been wrong before) at least then you have some form of comeback if/when they reoccur.

I doubt many installers are going to get into this, with their eyes open, as they will no doubt be held accountable if/when said faults reoccur.

Regarding which to move, eyes on it would tell.

Hi DGOBS, thanks for taking the time to reply. My preference would be to pay Vokera to refit it for the exact reasons you've given but that doesn't appear to be an option. The new flue will be with us tomorrow. I'll see if they'll recommend an installer. I can take pictures of the existing set up but I don't think I can post images as my post count is so low.
