What if I can't attend court

    Hi guys

I am due to attend court in the morning. My child has come down with vomiting bug. I don't have anyone to mind him. What can I do? Who do you call in the courts to advise them? What if they don't believe me? I don't have the €60 to go to a doctor for something that will hopefully be resolved by tomorrow. Will I be in trouble? It's a personal case, no other parties involved and I have no legal reps.

If the court is in the morning then all you can do is either phone the court office, explain the situation and ask for an adjournment or send a friend to meet the prosecuting Garda and ask for an adjournment.

Not sure what you mean when you say it's a 'personal case' - if it's a civil case then there will be a finding against you unless you show up given that the other side will probably be there and ready to go.
