    A CL500.

    or a Hilux.

Seriously, why not fill us in on more stuff like mileage, what you need the car for etc. ?

    Besides, wrong section.

I live 1km from my job so probably won't do much mileage at all

I was in your position 2 years ago. Went with an 08 3 series se with a few extras so I'd recommend popping a 3er in there too.
Assuming you don't do 300 miles every weekend I think you are very firmly in petrol territory.

What kind of drive do you want? Speed, sporty, comfy cruiser?

Bit of everything really, not too fussed about speed aslong as it is quick enough

3 Series would be nice but i am a big fan of Audi's and 08 shaped C class

If it were me, personally, I'd be looking at something like THIS.

Perhaps then I'd look at something like THIS.

But that's just me, personally. :)

Excuse this stupid question, but do you need to spend 15k on a car when you are 15min walk from your work, and you say you won't use it much.

Have you thought about the Cycle To Work scheme?

This is the motoring forum?! Sacrilege!

Op I'd love to be in your position.. There are 44 08/09 petrol c class on carzone at the moment. All are under 16k so within your budget. The 08 on model c class is an incredibly handsome car especially in the amg style spec. Every tom dick and Harry is in an Audi at the mo. Merc all the way!

Have you looked at a Lexus is250? You'd have a massive chunk of change left in your budget with an 08/09 model.
