A Question for the Boards Civil Servant Mods

I was wondering. Is your need to validate your mammy's desire for you to rot your lives away in the civil service while pushing government propaganda actually worth it?

I mean, on a fulfilling level, in terms of feeling you have risen to your expectations/potential in life by your impulsive need via instinctual defending government policy in order to attain non performance pay rises and promotions?

We all - including you lot - know the civil service is as scam of no economic value or worth to Irish society. Well, other than keeping People Before Profit and the Socialists Workers Party alive. But, on a deep emotional level, was being a superficial sanctimonious fake for a pension really - I mean in terms of a deep emotional level - worth it?

What of creativity, enterprise, individuality and independence etc?

Did a great interveiw, and and even better aptitude test-yet still languishing on foreign soil-if these mofos gave you a more tangiable form explaing where you are on the list and why, that would be perfect-but they gotta cover up their tracks when hiring their relatives ...so...TS.

In the tiger years people like you scoffed at me for working in the public sector because you could earn twice the money in the buildings etc. With the public jobs hiring freeze now in effect are you sickened you just missed the boat and the perceived gravy train?

With the cuts us "fat cat" public sector workers have taken, there is a sizeable percentage whom qualify for social housing based on their earnings. Take your hate filled diatribe elsewhere, this public servant is sick off the witch hunt.

True. The opening post isn't bitter at all - it's perfectly rational.

Well, after having competing in what I thought was an open interveiw on who would be the best candidate for a post-I can tell you that you might feel a bit different when the news makes it's way to you that ain't on the ticket:(

In fairness, I have 3 family members working in PS.
Its actually shameful how they(and by what the talk about)and their fellow workers spend their day.
The stories of the waste of time, dossing and general fukcaboutery are scandalous.
And the really shocking part is, to them and their workmates, its the norm.
I don't envy them(before anyone jumps on that old chestnut).
    I'm actually ashamed for them.
There is no INCENTIVE to do better. They have more than enough incentives throughout the year. I was floored when I heard their bonuses and additional "add ons" they get paid.
They get paid no matter how they perform.
Why the hell would they bother to do a good job?

You sound like you smoked at least three marijuanas.
Be careful you don't overdo that stuff. I hear it can kill.

But what has that got to do with the opening post which is just an attack on people who work in the civil service (and who are mods apparently)?

Yeh there are definitely problems with it as a whole (have worked there myself) but people who attack it think it's ok to attack individuals who got a job within it, as if they wouldn't take a job within it themselves. It's a classic case of "Hate the game, not the player".

I don't think thats the case.
The "players" in the game are MORE than ready to protest and strike if anyone so much as dares to question the "game".

Do you genuinely think people who have had a SERIOUSLY cushy number on the taxpayers dollar, will hold their hands u and say " Well yeah, there are 9 of us here doing the job of 2 but hey, I have a union and dont feck with me"

A Civil Service in any country should by its very nature, never be determined by its eonomic value.

Apart from that I have absolutely no idea what the hell you are on about.

Get to fcuk. If you got a phone call for an interview with the civil service, you'd be down off your sister and straight onto your computer knocking out a c.v. and a few fake references like a bullet.:pac:

Im a public servant of sorts (teacher) if that counts...

But who in gods name would have anything against teachers?

1st September 2014 I started a new job having spent close on 12 years working in the Public Service - the notion that it is a well paying job needs to be dispelled.

In my own case my comparison is not with 'the average wage' - in which case it was a very well paid job - it was with my professional peers (making it a shi'ite paying job).

I've returned to working for a private firm on better pay, benefits and conditions than I could ever hoped to have got in the PS.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,235 ✭✭✭✭Cee-Jay-Cee

So OP you are bitter at those that successfully obtained a job you failed to get? This is not about civil servants backing or defiending their jobs, this is about you being jealous that tou didn't have what it took to get the job you wanted and obviously weren't sucessful in getting any job in ireland for that matter and so had to emigrate. Boo fcuking hoo, grow up!

I have a sneaking suspicion that Clovenhoof is just a self-hating civil servant.

    It would explain a lot.
