Bull bars/a-bars/nudge bars

    As above folks, I thought these were banned in 2000 by European directive. Considering getting one but don't want to splash out if they're illegal. Still see them on loads of Jeeps and vans at the mart and on the road etc. So what's up with that? Thanks for reading

    As far as I can see, it's illegal to fit a bull bar to a vehicle since 2003, but if. It had one before then it's ok. As for A bars, it seems to be a grey area as lots of very new 4x4s have them and no issue. It may depend on the height of the top of the bar.

    I see lots of aftermarket examples that seem to get through the doe test. No one seems to have any fact on this.

    I think its illegal to sell and fit them as OE equipment but aftermarket is a different story.
