I wouldn't worry about the closing date being pushed back, this also happened last year and it means nothing major. I've been through this process and I know the wait is tough, but from what I hear there's a substantial amount of applicants and many new crew are needed next year. I know the feeling of excitement/nervousness of waiting to see have you gotten through to the next round but no news is good news guys! By judging the timing of this recruitment drive I would assume training will begin in the Spring so please don't worry as nobody has gotten a call yet and there is still loooooads of time :) I hope to see you all out on the lines next year :D

Does anyone know, does everyone start at the same time?
I'm in final year of college and wouldn't be able to start until May. I wouldn't like to miss out on this opportunity, if I get it obviously.

  • Registered Users Posts: 81 ✭✭2jb116

Training March/April/May is what I'm hearing. That could change though

DELIGHTED for you all!! You're nearly there :) preparation is key so research the company, new routes and plans for the future! Research some questions and answers but don't sound too rehearsed as the interviewers want to see your real personality and what you as a person can bring to the airline. All the interviewers are so so nice and remember they want you to get the job so don't be too nervous and try to relax and you'll do great! Enjoy the experience! So excited to meet you all next year :) it's a great time to join!

I didn't get any phone call but did get an email to attend the assessment centre on the 8th of Jan and to bring lots of documents with me ! !

    Just a few pointers :)

    1. Have your grooming impeccable and have a certain grace about you.
    2. THE most important aspect of the job is maintaining the constant safety of the passengers, crew and aircraft.
    3. Empathy. Show how you're a nice person and kind towards passengers but also coworkers!
    3. Teamwork, teamwork, teamwork! Replace the "I" with "we". But also show that you wouldn't be afraid to work off of your own initiative.
    4. Show that you're customer service orientated, you want to give the passengers such a good experience that they'll return time and time again.
    5. Adaptability. Honestly show that you're perfectly fine with unexpected delays or roster changes and if you've to miss a social or family event that its ok with you!

  • Registered Users Posts: 77 ✭✭Mikef747

Thanks 2jb166, your very helpful, does the fact that some had a phone interview before being called to assessment centre and I didn't make any difference?

It seems like they must be interviewing nearly everybody 😳 everyone ive spoken to who applied got an email. Maybe I'm just speaking to the right people lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 261 ✭✭kkapp

Congrats to everyone who has been invited to the assessment centres. For those who haven't heard anything yet stick with it. I know they still have more applications to get through. It is a huge recruitment this year so its taking much longer than expected. Hopefully I will be flying with some of you in the new year. Its a very exciting time and i still remember preparing for my own assessment days back when i started. It is a great place to work with great people so for this elf you who come to us you will love it I am sure.

Hey has anyone else's interview been changed to the 20th of January?

  • Registered Users Posts: 77 ✭✭Mikef747

Nicola, I got an email to say disregard the previous email and interview date and gave me a new date but it was actually still for the 8th !

  • Registered Users Posts: 125 ✭✭NicolaDowney

@Mikef747 that's odd. There was abit of confusion whether or not my interview was the 8th or the 20th when I was emailing so she actually ended up calling me to verify that its on the 20th. I'm abit disappointed because I was looking forward to it but I'll use the extra time to prepare.

Best of luck with your interview :).

Hi,I didn't get any email to say the date change yet,but I think later interview is better, more information from us who having early interview, and longer time to prepare.I am very nervous, seems mine is the earliest in all of you.don't know what to do.

I applied for it when it first came out but I know people that applied after me and they got an email before me. I was convinced that I wasn't getting an email. Also I have contacts in aerlingus and the interviews are going on right up to the 28th of January. And I was scheduled for the 8th

  • Registered Users Posts: 192 ✭✭Robert T

Thanks a lot for the reply! I applied practically on the day the job was advertised so hearing that you also applied early gives me hope that I might get an invite still.

No problem hope you hear something soon! I literally didn't think I was going to hear back cause everyone heard last week but obviously taking them a while to get through them all!

Hi everyone, hope you're all enjoying Christmas! I have yet to hear back from EI, but not at all worried (well not yet, lol)! They're looking for well over one hundred crew in this drive, so it's going to take a long time to sort out all the interview days. Hope all of you who have yet to hear back will do so in the new year!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 40 meesh140

    The wait is killing me....

All were given year-round permanent contracts last November, The company is now recruiting permanent-seasonal and FTC cabin crew. So working on a seasonal basis is now part of the hiring process. Being given year-round permanency will then only be a reward.

    Hi there,

I have my interview on the 8th as well, just wondering when it comes to filling in the 5years check form, as part of my education I never got to finish my degree due to financial reasons, would that be disregarded on my form due to it being in complete?

    Any help appreciated! :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 81 ✭✭2jb116

Hi! Nope you have to put everything down, regardless if you left or not! So just put down the entry date and exit date! :) this form has to be filled out very accurately :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 77 ✭✭Mikef747

Hey guys, The recruitment form is asking for candidate/invitation number, where do I find that ?
    Regards

From my understanding of the forms we don't fill that in, I could be wrong tho

    Thanks Amy,
It's the first thing on contact info on the left side, I think the right side is office use only, so I think we have to fill this part in, there was a reference number when the email came for the online assessment, I wonder if this is the number ?

I must have overlooked the number in the email, I'll have a look myself tonight. Hopefully someone on this can clarify it for us.
