Sky + hd pleases wait

    Hi

    Got Sky installed last week

    I'm old school turn off all devices at night

    When I turn back on Sky + hd box I get this black screen with that message for 15 mins

    Eventually works

    Anyone know how to stop this?

    Yes, don't turn it off, it is designed to be left on 24/7.

    Unplugging it makes it perform a full reboot when it powered back on. Aside from the inconvenience I'd expect the stress of doing this every day is not good for the machine either.

    As said do not unplug it, the box will always do a full reboot from dead.

    If you keep unplugging your sky box you are likely to corrupt the database and at a minimum lose all your recordings, this is a common fault usually from power cuts though not people doing it themselves.

    Sky boxes even in standby are often still running, often they will stay on for some time after standby while housekeeping tasks are performed and will power up and down seemingly at random while in standby for various tasks including firmware updates. Interrupting these by pulling the plug is an excellent way to ensure you will damage the box.
