Newbie looking for advice, doing the Sean Kelly tour of the Midlands tomorrow morning.

It will be chilly starting out.

Would I be alright in my aldi bib tights and a Canterbury long sleeve or should I put more layers on?

Maybe a light rainjacket until the sun comes out?

Waiting around means you will be cold prior to the off. Always bring layers and the way to go would be to take them off as they are no longer needed.

I'll be out myself on a club spin. Planning on wearing a long sleeved base layer and winter Jersey. Or perhaps stick on a summer Jersey over the base layer and a gilet. Either way it will warm up a bit, so you don't want to be baking either. A rain cheater can be taken off and put in the back Jersey pocket as you heat up

Ideally: base layer under a wind stopper or mid weight jersey. Regular bibs. Leg and arm warmers. Gillet/rain jkt.

It's better to rely on a light rain shell fir the cold IMO than bulk up and overkill the warmth first thing

Aldi tights, base layer, arm warmers, short sleeve jersey full zip, gilet should be about it.

    Thanks,

Think I will go with aldi bib tights, long sleeve base layer, soccer jersey, neoprene cycling jacket and short gloves.

How did you get on? :)

It'll be trial and error for a wee while as what works for one may not for another.

I got on great, tough but a great day for it.

I wore the neoprene jaCket, I could have done with somewhere to stash it on the last 30k.

    Its a learning curve.
