Are there still issues with having an Israeli stamp in your passport when traveling through the Middle East? Specifically flying with Emirates? A friend of mine warned me that people had been refused on to Emirates flights for having the Israeli stamp in their passport. I was in Israel and Palestine about 5 years ago traveling and have the stamps from then.

Flying next week, last minute and looking at flights with Emirates but have heard horror stories of not being allowed on board or refused entry when passing through Dubai. Anyone done this recently?

    I have an Irish passport.

Or Etihad for that matter? I believe that you cannot fly with Middle Eastern Airlines with an Israeli stamp, not sure of the others.

    Yep, it's not an issue.

Have an Irish passport with Israeli stamps and flew through UAE this year with Emirates and no problems.

OP, "travelling through the Middle East" isn't the problem, nor is the airline. Same rules apply to all of them. The real question is what is the final destination, and what are their restrictions of Israeli stamps?

For example, an Emirates flight to Egypt or Jordan will be fine. One to Iran will not, though exactly how far you can go depends on how far you go on one ticket.

Israel no longer stamps Irish passports at all, by the way. It's all electronic now and they just scan you and give a receipt.

    Not so sure about that.

Think it may only apply at Tel Aviv airport, so if anyone is entering the country by land, Israeli officials will still stamp the passport though that won't make much difference as countries that have an issue with Israeli stamps also look for Jordanian and Egyptian stamps that border Israel.
