    Hi
Just wondering if anyone can give me advice on this. I am building house at the moment and we are thinking of putting in a Solid Fuel Stanley Donard Range with Back Boiler and we are also planning to install the Heat Recovery System. We will have 26 radiators. Will the range heat all the heaters and will it work with the Heat Recovery System. Has anyone any experience of this??
    Thanks in advance

We are planning to do the same thing but also have oil as a backup. I cannot figure out if we will need to leave a vent in the kitchen for the range as the house will be airtight. Then will it be pointless installing a MHRV if the house isn't fully airtight. I keep that conflicting advice from people. Can't figure out what to do! Are you far on with your house?

How many of the radiators will be doubles?
A double rad counts as two...what kind of sizes.

Realistically not a hope of heating them all at once.

The Stanley Donard Range has an output of 30,000btu when using good dry wood, it will not heat 26 radiators, radiator all have a btu output add yours up.

All open flue appliances require ventilation.

If there was a wall vent left in the kitchen near the solid fuel range would this be sufficient ventilation?

Also would it be pointless installing a MHRV system if they was a open vent in the kitchen?

Some brands if stoves are able to be piped outside for the vent source so that sealed houses aren't affected.

Hi, also wondering what you ended up doing? I'm in the same situation. Air-tight house, MVHR, stove with direct air-supply from outside (via 5" pipe) and I was also planning a solid fuel range cooker. Would a vent in the floor (from the 5" supply) close to the range do the job?
