UTV Ireland launches in Jan. Is there any confirmation yet if it will be on the Sky platform in the ROI?

Hopefully the addition of UTV Ireland will also bring the other ITVs on board as well such as ITV 2,3,4 and ITV Encore. It will be a bit confusing if you are watching something on UTV and at the end they say tune over to ITV2 to see the follow on programme such as I'm A Celebrity,or or Britain's Got Talent.

Itv 2,3 and 4 can be tuned in through the other channels feature.

TV3 still retain the rights to some ITV programming, including Britains Got Talent and the X Factor so you wont be hearing those shows telling you to "switch over to ITV2 now" on UTV Ireland.

I realise that but I meant for them to appear on the epg so they can be recorded.

    Source for this?

So they won't be available on the Sky platform for 2 weeks after the Jan 1st launch?

Doesn't sound right, what about the continuity for soaps such as Corrie and Emmerdale which finish on TV3 at the end of the year?

I would imagine we will see UTVI on the EPG about 20th December (they stop adding channels over Christmas/New Year I think) ... They will probably have a promo running up to launch.

If this is the case I wonder is it because of the Sky EPG freeze over the Xmas period? As far as I know Sky do make allowances for removing channels from the EPG durning the freeze but I don't know about adding channels.

I'd say all platforms (sky, UPC, Evision, Saorview) will have it - UTV would be stupid not to get maximum coverage.

I tweeted Sky Ireland and UTV Ireland yesterday asking the same question as my original post and Sky replied saying "currently we have no confirmation regarding this".

That isnt much of a reply. If you state something that no one else is aware of then you should be able to back up your comment with a link to the source of the info.

So where on the Sky website can we view this info?

No as all the plots would be spoiled by ITV showing it at its usual time,it would need to run at the same time as them!
