    Hi all.

Last week I met with some friends who told me of a job opportunity in my line of work. I've recently left a large multinational and am looking for work.
When I said I was interested they asked if I had my own company in Ireland through which they would pay me (I'm Irish but have just moved to the UK from the USA - not resided in Ireland in over 17 years).

They encouraged me to look into it but I can't tell if this would be to my or their advantage. I guess that there are tax advantages to be had somewhere but am unsure if this is worth the effort.

Does anyone have a link to a site that could explain if this is a path that I should be looking at ?

Usually doing contracting in IT there is an umbrella company that you use. One example is this company.

Is this for a UK based job?

    Yes. It's where I live.
