When that was first being shown, my sister used to call it 'Molested By An Angel'. :D

When I was around ten or eleven, I used to have the biggest crush ever on Simon (the young blonde lad.)

Now I feel like a paedophile! Eewwww! He's a child! (So was I at the time, but still, yuck!)

He always reminded me of the kids from Village of the Damned

Jeez that was a weird show, I remember thinking the same at the time.
It gave us Jessica Biel though. Silver linings and all that.

It was only when she saw Collins on a TV show in the 90s that the woman first told her husband about the childhood abuse.

And then waited another 20 years to tell anyone else.

I loved that show! Another childhood memory trashed for me now:'(. Apparently one of the actresses in it has just died too, aged 40, sad news.

How exactly are your childhood memories trashed?

Out of all the TV/movie stars, singers he was one the last people you'd suspect of being a paedophile.

    .

How do you guess which ones might be paedophiles, though? :/

Well its a bit gutting to find out the actor who was a main character on a show I loved is quite possibly a paedophile.

Yes it is. But how does it trash your childhood memories?

That might have been said with just a little tongue in cheek.

That's a good few tv people that have been outed as peados in the recent past. Were they sick before they got on the tele or did the fame drive them loopy? And why is it only men?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 161 ✭✭caolfx

Never watched it - it was called 7th Heaven FFS!

Could be because if a bloke said 'that lady from the tv show touched me inappropriately when I was underage' they'd probably have to endure a lot of stupid 'Niiiiiice' comments from immature idiots who don't take female-on-male paedophilia seriously.

Saw a few bits of it.Unbearably sickly sweet and righteous. The guy in question had the part of an almost God like figure who apparently knew everything and was always right in an extremely smug kind of way.
The kind of family you would just love to see invaded by Hells Angels and Mom Dad get tortured and murdered in front of the kids.

The wife should be locked up. Why didn't she report him in 2012 when he confessed?? She just used the tape to blackmail him to get more money in the divorce proceedings.

Or maybe it's just that the overwhelming majority of peados are men.

Dr Julie Parrish from the original V mini series is his ex wife. I always wondered what happened to her.

Fúckin' detested that show with it's awful, straight-as-an-arrow messages about morals. Was the definition of a Sunday to me as the sister used to always watch it when it came on TV then.

Eurgh, that theme tune still haunts me.

    Anyways :pac:

No surprise there, when I found out Charles Ingalls (Michael Landon) was a wife beater in real life that was it for me, I knew we were all doomed.

I knew there was something creepy about that show.

They've been showing re-runs of it on one of the Sky channels, Living or something like that. Not sure, whichever one has Judge Judy re-runs. Love the Judge. Anyway, any time they show an ad for it I actually visibly shudder. The mother does the exact same.

There was definitely something creepy about that show. It always made me feel so uncomfortable.

I would believe telling anyone you were molested as a child, as something difficult to do, and might take that long to build up the courage to speak out about, whether the person involved was famous or not.

Watching "House" one night and apparently there is a recognised
condition that repels people from psychopaths .
It's a form of self preservation.

The definition of a damp never ending Sunday afternoon in rarely internet connected rural Ireland of the 90's (Walton eat your heart out). Those lyrics are now running around in my head and I can't turn them off. They seemed play episodes back to back or maybe it was just the atmosphere lingered for long afterwards. I'm not going to lie, I loved and hated in equal measure

    Intense video.

****ing awful show, ****ing hated it.

Would have been nice to see a 7th Heaven/Sons of Anarchy crossover alright.
