Garmin 510 elevation different than Strava

Hi I just recently got a Garmin 510 and have been leaving my smartphone at home and uploading my ride through garmin connect to strava.

I've only just noticed since I've started using the garmin my elevation gain is higher with my garmin compared to when I used to run strava off my smart phone.

Also I was out for a group ride last night and my elevation gain was 140m and all the other guys readings were 46m.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

Same with my 500, mine was 100m higher than the others with smart phones.

There's a 'correct elevation' function on Strava

My 705 always records neatly double elevation gain to what it should be. I blame the barometer.

I can correct the elevation in both strava and garmin connect but not sure if you can do this with 510 data.

Ya I can correct it alright just a pain having to go in and correct it manually on both each time.

Does this option when ticked work for all uploads?

I've used it on both roads (from major to country lanes) and mountain tails and always works for me. Usually takes a minute or so to work out but did take a few hours once.
