Price is a grand less on Donedeal.

Looks clean enough in the photos but you would need a good look over it to confirm. Price is still a bit rich for the mileage.

As long as you can accept RR running costs then no harm in trying 10K cash

Yeah I saw that alright I think the mileage is lower there aswell. Running costs should be okay and would put aside a few grand for repairs!

Price up a replacement 22" tyre and that may help you decide ;-)

But I understand your dilemma kind of..... was the same before I took the plunge with a 2007 BMW 730i, however my milage was 41k miles which made it easier. I am delighted with my decision, as the salesman said to me "sometimes you just gotta jump in"

That said the miles are to big on this for me, 60-70k maybe..

Tyres are pricey alright. I was originally looking at stuff around the 20k mark but then I thought get something nice for lower money and keep some aside for running costs and possible problems. Even 20k would only get a 2007 model and then leave nothing if anything goes wrong

if these go wrong, that 10k will look like mars bar money. And these cars do not have a reputation for being reliable.

What's the worst thing that could go wrong typically?

    copied from honest john.co.uk :

"Instrument pack tends to last around 70k miles, costs £1,200 too replace.
Transmission usually lasts about 100k miles, costs £6k to replace."

I think there is no doubt that you need to be reasonably brave to venture into this territory, it's a car that I would like to have a spin in to evaluate but I don't think the image would suit me.... I did use to like the elevated driving position of the Kia Carens I had for a couple of weeks though and this would be higher again.

Clarkson on Top Gear loves them and I want you to have it but not regret it so set your mind at 10K, keep a 2K slush fund for unexpected repairs..... life is short...

    Thanks for the info

Says on the ad that the gearbox has been done so I'm assuming this is the transmission fault that usually happens. I'll ask them and see.

have a look at http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/ for advice on these.

If you are driving it anywhere off the motorway network I'd lose the 22" rims for something sensible.

I'd buy one if I had the money but ! have 3 other LRs to keep in fuel and oil!

Every seems to be afraid of owning these except enthusiasts like Sean! There seems to be loads on the roads though so people are still buying them or holding on to them.

2k would hardly get tyres, let alone any big repair bill.

you would want a sizable budget set aside if you were to purchase.
