Whilst the digger is still here I'm getting him to pull a lot of tracks in the stone lane to stop it from flooding this winter. Lane is very steep gradient in places and is limestone base with 1" stone coated in quarry dust and compacted. Has anyone a failsafe method of water catches that work well and won't continue to either silt up or block with stones from driving over them. Have tried concrete gullies, gratings, 8" concrete pipes buried with the top cut off with a con saw, timber sides and floor but none of them work really effectively. Is there an optimum width that i should go for (spade width) and depth. The lane is 12-15 ft in width.
I don't want raised humps to divert water as the lane is nearly a mile long and don't want to be wrecking the jeep or tractors going over these.
    Thanks.
