    Hi all

In the process of organising Lifeshine paint protection for a new car i'm getting in 2015. I'm happy with what it does but asked the dealer if it is capable of protecting the paint against sun tan lotion. The dealer didn't know and has gone off to check with Autoglym.........I don't think it does!!!!

    anyone here know?

    many thanks
    VE

If it were me buying a new car I would be ensuring the exterior is not touched when the car is delivered, including the plastic protection. I would then bring it to a proper detailer to have a full detail and coating applied.

Life shine products can be bought for about €20 on eBay, there are better products out there that can be applied by someone who is going to be more careful than a valet person in a main dealer.

    Fully agree.
A proper detail will enhance the paint and you could get some very good.protection or nano sealants applied.

Tell the dealer not to touch it!

TBH, I'd be more concerned about bird droppings than suncream. Always wise to remove same ASAP.

Suncream marks can usually be removed with a paintwork cleanser or finishing polish if caught early, otherwise they may require a slightly more abrasive polish.

Anyway, paint protection has come a long way over the last few years and there are far better products on the market. Nano/ceramic coatings offer more protection against chemical etching, not that anything is bulletproof. Better getting a paint coating applied by a professional detailer if you are going to spend a few hundred Euro. Don't fall for all the marketing hype at dealerships. Salesmanship is their forte, not detailing.

I'd apply Opti Coat pro for the best possible protection.
