I used to find it brilliant for emptying my bank account! We fed beef cattle with it but it just added cost to the ration and we didn't see the gains that were promised. I make a point of not dealing with the company who sell it now.

Is it some sort of feed additive I've never heard of it?

Thanx Coonagh, have an empty pit here and thinking of filling it with something with the yr that's in it (massive stocks of winter feed built up-mixed with super levy and low grain price) think there should be good value maize, beet or brewers, distillers, hulls etc. Had a sales rep in this morning, selling eornagold, sounds good on paper(but then they all do). Have no experience of it though.

I wouldn't blame you. They are oddballs. Rep called into me once .Regular
Know it all. Said he would test my silage, took a sample and I never saw or heard from him again.A year later I said I would try the Trafford Gold. Ordered a load and rang after three weeks to see where it was, the boss started swearing that it was a f**king by product and he couldn't tell me when he would have it. I left it at that

Out of interest what price is it now? As far as I'm concerned it's just higher DM Brewers.

Around €70/tonne. I was under the impression it was a lot closer to distillers than brewers. Pitted brewers with my silage this summer costing around €60/tonne. Distillers was costing around €90 at the same time. Of course the falling cereal prices are obviously forcing it down now. What would u do in my situation?

What will you be using it for? Surely with current grain prices these by products will be less competitive.

At 38% DM your getting 380 kgs dm for €70, seems dear to me. Especially with grain prices where they are.

Used in the day, too wet to be value. All I remember is the bill not the performance.

Buy washed chopped fbeet, country full of it. Mix with citrus 7:1 and you'll have a pit if rocket fuel. Seal really, really well

Got a call about it off a salesman on would I be interested in buying some. Used it before. As the above poster said it's great to clear out your bank account & won't improve profits.

That's a gas crowd, when feed is scarce you'd have to donate a kidney to get it. Plenty if grub they'll deal no prob

What price was it delivered down to Tipp? I used to use brewers from Murphy's in Cork, always thought the lager stuff was better than the stout. I think Guinness are using 300 tons of malt per day, that's a lot of brewers to get rid of.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

17 replies and not one of them positive, that's a bad indication of it.

Cant comment on ernogold but used trafford super fuel for cows alright and when we came off it cows dropped more than the cost of the product.that s a good few years ago. Then the price went up and there was no value in the product anymore. Always messy with pricing on invoices and finished upwith them with abit of arguing wit rep, promising sun, moon and stars. Never dealt with them again
