Anyone any advice for playing here for a high handicapper?

What are practice facilities like? Is there a range?

Jees, had a big response nearly typed and closed the tab by mistake.

In summary, no range but there's a short area to hit wedges to the right as you drive in the gate. Practice putting green up between the club house and first tee.

It's over a year since I played the course but I've fond memories of it and there's some class holes and views on the back nine. There's a good stroke saver view of each hole on their website so review that to determine the best course management strategy. It's not a long course so a long iron from a number of tees is always a good ploy. Some good elevation changes and fairways kick the ball according to the slope so adjust accordingly.

Its a great course in really good condition most of the year...i was a member there for nearly 20 years so here goes on ....

1st very straightforward a nice drive will leave mid iron to green
2nd Long par 4, play as a 3 shotter, most of trouble down the left of hole
3rd Fairway and Green slopes very strongly from left to right, important to miss trees down left side of fairway as it can block out 2nd shot
4th Nice par 5, keep drive right of Barber pole as slopes from right to left, long iron or rescue for 2nd will leave nice 3rd shot in
5th Short par 5,keep drive left of sand and again fairway on 2nd shot slopes hard left to right
6th long iron or rescue to the corner then make sure to take extra club up the hill for 2nd shot
7th long iron or rescue to barber pole then mid iron to green
8th long par 3 depending on wind direction,no trouble short bbut problems left, right and long
9th straightforward par 4 nice drive will leave mid/short iron to green
10th driver or 3 wood depending on wind then mid/long iron over river to the green
11th nice drive just to right of left side bunkers will leave mid/long iron to green
12th Long Par 4 play as a three shotter
13th straightforward par 4 once u keep down left half of fairway from tee
14th depending on the markers a tough or rally tough tee shot, theres more room to the right than u think
15th great par 3 long iron/wood or driver depending on weather
16th Long Par 4 play as a three shotter, shortest angle is down left side of fairway
    17th short Par 3, don't be long
18th Nice par 5 to finish, keep drive down right side of fairway and ensure approach shot misses all the sand

    Enjoy....
PS there is a long game range but u will need to bring ur own balls, its just passed entrance about 600metres down the road

Superb course and very fair challenge

Only prob was flooded bunkers which not a huge surprise given the previous nights downfall
