Was there no oil on the dipstick at all when you bought the car?
And you put 6 litres of oil in afterwards?

The engine takes 6.5 litres so it should have shown up on the stick.
Are you sure you filled it correctly?

    EEK!
Something or someone is very wrong here.
Manual or auto? Can you get a picture online of your engine and indicate what dipstick you checked and where you put the 6L of oil?

Where did you get 6L of oil? Usually sold in 1L, 2L 4L or 5L containers, so did you use 2 or more to give you 6? I just ask because it seems like a strange number to just have hanging around.

Hmmm, I thought you may have checked the wrong dipstick but google tells me BMW autoboxes haven't had a dipstick for many years. So I'm as confused as you are now.

A picture of the engine and a description of what you filled/checked would help a lot.

I don't know how to post a picture in here but oil cap is on top on the engine and the dipstick is on the right with red handle is the same engine like in bmw e39 5 series 520

Well you would have noticed if the oil was leaking as there'd be a massive slick under the car.
    Odd.

Yeah oil cap is almost impossible to miss and the dipstick is red.
Are you sure the stick isn't broken off and the end?

    This the engine?

dipstick too short or from another series imo , could be a leak from the sump , get it checked out asap anyway 6l of oil doesnt just disappear like that :l

are you checking the oil level with the car parked on a level surface? if it's on a slope you might not get a reading.

sounds like the safest thing to do at this point is to drain all the oil out and refill it with the manufacturers recommended quantity. if you still get no reading, your car has the wrong dipstick (maybe) but at least you know the right amount is in there.

no way did 6 litres leak off without you noticing, nor did you burn off 6 litres while driving less than 5 miles.

    drain and refill.

My bet is that the dipstick has snapped off or it is a wrong dipstick altogether.
I such case (assuming there is no oil leak) there is too much oil in the sump which in turn can put a lot of pressure on the crankcase seals. I would drain the oil and refill with the recommended amount of fresh oil.
