Help building 'futureproof' Gaming PC (~€900)

    1. What is your budget? [~900]

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming, Office work, Video Rendering, etc.]

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [Yes]

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [no]

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes]

    5a. If yes, what size do you need. [23'']

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [I need a mouse and keyboard as well as monitor]

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [I am, but not too clued up on the pros and cons]

    8. How can you pay? [Paypal/VISA Debit]

    9. When are you purchasing? [After Christmas]

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [Building shouldn't be too much of a problem]


    I'd like to be able to get a motherboard that is somewhat futureproof. Futureproof in the sense that I can just update graphics cards as I go along, without having to tear the PC apart component by component.

    One thing to consider is the size of the case.
    A good long case would suit as graphics cards, especially at the higher end of the spectrum are getting longer and longer.

    don't bother looking yet, after Christmas is a life time away in computers. prices will have changed.
