Bath Sealer Tape

    Hi all:

I was re-doing the bath seal today over the top of existing tiling/plastic bath trim/bath itself, and used a bit of sealing tape I had from an old job, prb 3 years old.

The adhesive seemed sound, but it wouldn't take to the surface. Held for a minute or so and then came away in parts.

Was it because it there was still some of the old adhesive on the bath trim in some places, or perhaps the seal tape too old or narrow?

It was about a 3/4 inch tape, not full adhesive, but 2 narrow strips left of centre and right of centre.

    Any advice or recommendations?

    Thanks

I reckon the tape's too old and also probably cos there's old tape already on the bath.

Clean tiles and bath 100% then use a hair dryer to totaly remove moisture. Tape will stick to a warm surface better.

If it was mine I'd cut away the plastic trim completely with a Stanley and fit new angle trim with Tech 7 adhesive.

    Better job than tape.
