Does a company need to register?

You are going to have to elaborate and give people some idea what you want to set up, people aren't mind readers. Help us out with some information and we will try help you out with some answers.

A tour company - what type, walking tours, cycling tours, tours in cities in Ireland, tours abroad?

What experience have you in tours or running a business?

As regards setting up a company, the simple answer is yes but you have given no information to help you with specifics.

    It would be bus tours
Taking tourists on day trips from the local town to places of interest that they wouldn't otherwise see - Castles, monasteries etc
I have no experience but I see there's a gap in the market
