    Hi,

Just checked out the rehab deals which is getting a lot of press, and signed up for an account.

You have to pay to see the price of the "Deal". But then the price may change if you pay to see it again.
Am I missing something or is this the dummiest way to sell stuff. Imagine if a shop charged you to find out the price and then when you go to buy it, you get charged again to confirm the price only to find the price has changed, could go up or down. Have you ever heard of a shop reducing their price when they realise you really want the product.
Just wasted a few bob and didnt find any great bargains.
Good products but no major savings

Well the rest of us seem to be missing the bargain alert.

On first impressions, it is designed to show you the price and then because the little yellow bar counts down, you are unable to compare the product price against competitors elsewhere.
It is to force panic buying when you have no concept of whether it is good value or not.
Think of it like when you are looking at a hotel on booking.com for example and the little notification bubbles are popping up saying that someone just booked this hotel. It is designed to cause you to panic buy in case price goes up or there are none left...this is the same concept.

Don't bother with them, go for grabone, groupon or livingsocial deals is my advice.

You can’t and that’s the fun

It's part of the fun my bollix. Paying rehab to show you the price of an item that you are being coerced into buying in a panic.

@irishproduce - I think the idea is that you have researched the price of the item beforehand. The 10 seconds is whether you want to take it at the price that is offered or not. To be fair, it's a game not a shopping site.

What I find really disturbing is that they use the name "Rehab" - it seems to make a connection with thr Rehab group or some other such rehabilitation charity which is grossly misleading.

As for the business idea itself - forget it - the business model involves selling credit, nothing more - complete waste of time...

If it was any other charity I might be alerting them to the use of their name elsewhere. As it is, both the website & charity seem to be a match made in heaven.:P

Ara jaysus! I should just go check these things out in future before spouting my trap!!:o I didn't even bother looking at the Rehab Deals site. The discussion on it so far wasn't encouraging me.

Is this where you get a politically-connected CEO for a mere €250k per annum? Wow, that would be a great deal.

BTW, seems from the FB page that next week there is a different item on the site at €5 each day.

Panic buying or not i think you are entitled to a cooling off period.

    Cooling-off period
You are entitled to a cooling-off period of 14 days, which begins on the day that you receive the goods. In the case of a service, the cooling-off period begins on the day the contract for distance selling was concluded.

In the case of digital content, the cooling-off period expires when the downloading or streaming starts.

During the cooling-off period, you can cancel a distance contract without giving a reason and without incurring charges or penalties, other than possible charges incurred in returning the goods.

If a trader fails to provide you with information on the right to cancel, the cooling-off period is extended to 12 months from the date it would have expired if the information had been provided. If the trader provides the information within this 12-month period, the cooling-off period expires within 14 days of the consumer receiving it.

From my reading of that and the (Lack of distance selling) information on the site you have a year and 14 days to cancel your order or return no questions asked and at no penalty.

IMHO this website is ridiculous and to be avoided.
