Looking for a bit of advice folks, I currently ride a Trek 1.5 with tiara mech/105 shifters and I'm looking to see what people's opinions are on a possible upgrade. My LBS currently has a rather beautiful bianchi impulso in stock, with campag veloce components. My dilemma is, should I upgrade components on my bike to ultegra or simply buy the bianchi? I generally am just a sportive cyclist, clicking up 150-200kms per week. Part of me always wanted a bianchi, after seeing you tube and DVD footage of Marco pantani doing what he done best on his bianchi.

I suppose I'd go for the Bianchi ;)
Will your lbs give you a good deal and take a trade in?

Yeah they'll take a trade in. The store I work in wont honour/take part in the bike to work scheme which somewhat restricts funds for upgrade

where the option of buying a new bike exists, the answer will always be to buy a new bike.

I have a bike with Campagnolo Veloce group set. It's a great set up, works really well, and looks lovely.

I'm actually a bloke. The Lizzy in lizzy-lad refers to thin lizzy. It's a 60cm frame, (58.5 TT

Possible a stupid question but what would its comparison be in shims no components?

I reckon, Veloce is comparable in price and placement to Shimano 105.
I have/have had Shimano DuraAce and Sram Red on bikes, and the shifting and general feel of the Veloce is just as good as either of those(in my humble opinion)

Given you have 105 shifters, would you upgrade to mostly 105. Say cassette, chainrings, chain for one fifty or so. Perhaps do the mechs as well. Not sure what they would cost. Maybe one hundred. Keep the tiagra cranks.

Noooo what am I saying ???? New bike. Always new bike.
