Ok so maybe I am completely on a different planet but I have recently being viewing posts on facebook of a certain breeder who is advertising pups for 450 + euro and this same lad charged 1400 for a pup that he kept and trained for a lad that wouldn't hunt to save her life. Now is this common practice ? Now from what I can see this lad has no credentials in the spaniel community.are lads happy to pay out this kinda money ? From what I can see he is a good sales man and that's about it.correct me if i am wrong .

I know a guy that gave €1000 for a pup and at least €2500 to get it trained and the dog is ****e. Some lads truly have more money than sense.

Well this is what I'm on about . I know of another lad that gave 1000 to a lad in the minster area for a springer that is timid and has queen Anne legs .and this man is 70 years of age

There are plenty of lads out there who are willing to rip u off. Personally i wouldnt give more than 400 for a pup with the best breeding. There are one or two characters out there who have built up quite a business saying that they maintained a bloodline from the past etc etc.when it is widely known that they are buying and selling on dogs for a quick few bob. Unless you know your bloodlines well u could pay over the top for an average pup. If you are looking for a pup put an advert up on this forum. There are plenty of decent springer men on here that would sort you out with a well bred pup

I'd be in total agreement I saw one particular lad at a working test lately that ran a dog of his and to say she was useless and out of control was an understatement. This lad was selling dogs on here and advertising training days.i think lads should be aware of these crookes

Hello lads this is a very sticky one. The only way u can know your getting a good dog is if the man or woman selling it tell u the hole throught and nothing but the throught.

Well pups are a lottery anyway but in fairness every fella will claim he has good dogs in order to sell one. But some lads go to the extreme with the selling of dogs . I won't buy a dog for a long time again I have pups from my own lad and plan on covering another bitch in december so I have an idea of what I have . But I can't understand how these lads fall for the sales pitch .

Sometimes its not all down to a bad dog.It can be down to the new owner the make a bad dog.I'll give u an example' i recently was asked to have a look at a springer a lad had bought fully trained on the whistle. When i went to collect this dog the lad said the dog was walking behind him about ten feet back and would not go out front and hunt. I brought this dog away and that eve i sat in the garden with the dog close by on a lead. By the time the day was over i had this dog working lovely and on the whistle. I'll leave ye with this' the only time you should kick a dog is if it's not your's and it teeth are stuck in your leg.
