    Hi Folks,

I got a new clutch pedal cover fitted to my car today - i found the existing pedal just really awkward. Whether it was size or seating position i just couldnt find a comfortable driving position with it, to the point that i felt sometimes depending on my footwear that my foot was going to slip off the pedal.

Local garage fitted today - i picked up a set of pedal covers in halford and he just put on the clutch one... makes a huge different to the driving experience for me!

One thing he said though is that when NCT comes around (not for 3 years) i will need to take it off and put back on the rubber on the pedal.

I dont mind but is that the case? Do they check that in the NCT?

    Cheers,
    Mick

the size of the cover would be more of an issue i thought. the spacing etc between pedals needs to fall within specific limits. so if the cover is much bigger then the old one, then you might have an issue.
But unless the cover can easily fall off or is made of a slippery material, then i dont see the issue.

Perhaps the seller have heard of complaints before.
NCT does check the wear on the pedals but if the cover is not impeeding the use of the clutch I don't really see a problem. Worst case, it's a free visual inspection if you fail on it.

It will fail if it's spotted. See Item no. 57 on the NCT Manual.
They expect to see the rubber anti-slip cover that the car was originally fitted with.
Apparently the Berlingo Multispace's came with a plastic clutch pedal and the NCT were trying to fail them for not having a rubber cover until Citroen explained that this was how they came from the Factory....and were EU Type-approved, etc.
