Rang volkwagon and they want €179 for a replacement key.
What's my options, car has little value, was already up for sale and only looking for €500 for it.

Try Steve Guard. They might be cheaper than VW.

    Are the keys gone gone?

They could be caught in the U bend of the toilet or even down behind the outlet. Open the inspection chamber outside and a couple of big flushes with a wad of toilet paper will pick up the keys if still in the pipework. Have a net or something (rubber glove) to catch them.

Toilets are so low flow now that heavier objects will likely sit in the pipes.

    Worth a try.

You should have 2 keys - but ye don't cause ye lost the first set

buy a new key - sell car make €300

ring scrap yard guy and walk away you are none of us are strangers to losing out like this

ring insurance company see if key loss is covered

ring insurance company and insist on home start

    hope for arson attack

go to jail for arson attack - better life than depending on €500 car

I lost a volvo key 6 years ago - €300 for a new one didn't buy it but was very careful with the spare.

If the key is in the jaxx, it's probably full of poo. I just wouldn't feel right holding that key, knowing where it's been :pac:

What about changing the key barrel from a scrapped car?

Modern cars can throw up all sorts of problems computer systems that only work with correct code from keys been there done that with my brothers BMW cost me packet to replace keys tired every angle on the dangle replace barrels etc .
Also the keys from new barrel wont open car doors so it drive all the time with doors open unless you replace all the barrels for the doors and boot and some
Cars like my fiat bravo 1999 if you lose keys often more easy to bin car .
2003 is marginally worth it depending car and state of car and so forth .

I will try to get car looked at during the week up to my ears right now and i dont got kids just lifes demands ha ha
