HTC One slow to respond during/after charging

Recently, I have noticed that when my HTC One (about 12 months old) is charging, it is very slow to respond if you try to use it and also after the charging is completed, it can still be slow to react. It seems to need a restart to get it back working properly.
This was never a problem previously and I don't think it started happening after installing any new apps.
    Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.

my HTC was/is doing exactly the same............so I removed all games/apps I did not need. I also installed AVG Antivirus + AVG Cleaner(2014). Works much better now but still not as good as it should be.Probably time for a new phone !!!

Where would you bring it for a service ?

I tried contacting the HTC support site and was advised to do a factory reset, don't want to do that if possible.

Try removing the antivirus too. They usually do more harm than good on android. I've yet to see a compelling reason to use one, unless you are a clueless user, and like installing random .apk files.

Is there much involved in backing up the phone content and restoring it ?

There's an app for the pc to which it synchs.

It might be some app using too much RAM.

Go to Settings, Apps, Running next time it happens and see is it low on RAM.
Mine is on 1.1/1.7GB now and it's running fine but I had the same issue with it being slow before.

I think some app was causing a memory leak, it might show up high on the list if you get a battery app like GSAM. I uninstalled a few of my last downloaded apps and it was fine after a reboot. Battery was also drawing way quicker on mine before I got it back to normal.

Are you using the original charger that came with the phone?
I had the exact same symptoms a while back with a HTC Desire, when I switched to using a cheapo USB charger. The screen response was very erratic when plugged in, and for a short while after unplugging.

I'd say the cheaper chargers have a much "noisier" output and the electrical interference can upset the touch sensitivity on the phone.

Try a different charger if possible and see if that makes any difference.

HTCs are notorious for this from my experience....

Think that might be the problem, only started to notice this after I replaced my charger. Cheers.
