I've bought it through eBay several times (95%) with no issues. I don't see why it would be controlled.

You can buy it commercially but its smallest quantity when I done this years ago was 1 gallon tin.

Chemist will sell it in small bottles

I got some last year. Yes it can be bought in chemists however they'll will charge quite a bit. I think I was charged 17quid for 500ml was quite expensive. If you're not in a hurry you can order it from farnell.com and you'll get like 1 litre for half the price. I'm sure if you shop around you'll find others selling it too.

Thanks for the info. Will they need to ask any questions as in what do you need it for?

I rang all the chemists in town and none of them sold it. I ordered a 2 litre bottle of the stuff on ebay from a guy in Sligo for around 20 quid.

You can use the juice of an onion as a substitute.

Good coverup, pretending it needs to be close to 100%. We both know what you really want it for, you dirty man.

Most pharmacies will order it for you if you ask them. I regularly buy it and it's dirt cheap

    Foran Chemicals are the supplier

Bought many a tin of the stuff in maplins when I used to do printer repairs. And by Printer repairs I do mean fill a bell jar with Mary-anne Johanna and iso alcohol and leave it in a dark place for a few days followed by evaporation in a clean sterile environment under heat lamps.

I may have said to much..

Used to buy it from AS Composites in Sligo - they were the cheapest I could find anywhere for bulk IPA.
Their website seems to have gone missing, but I see there is a UK version of the website that may be able to help you:

The two Euro stores used to sell a CD cleaning kit that would have a bottle of isopropyl, I don't know if you can still get them there, but worth a try.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)
