Folks, have a 02 Volvo V70 D5 which is a great old car but as you know when Volvos go wrong they really do!! On acceleration there is a very sluggish response particularly if shifting down a little early. At the same time as this happens the traction control light flashes and within a few seconds the ABS/antiskid warning comes on and remains on. It resets again after shutdown. After some web browsing it may be a "coked throttle body"??? Anyone know of a good mechanic who knows Volvos inside out? Was a guy in Clontarf I think? Any info much appreciated! Kev

+1 for the Volvo guy in Scully's.

Last year he fixed an ABS module in my 850. There's almost no-one left who has the ability to fix things, as opposed to replacing stuff.

Would anyone know if Scully Autocare would be able to do software updates on a Volvo? ('10 S40)

I'd like to have the trip computer added, and from my research, it's just a case of buying and installing/calibrating the software (I have the correct stalk already).

Actually, there are a few Volvo optional extras I'd like to add over time, so would be great if I know where to go. I could try the official Volvo service centres, but I'm sure they'll be a little more Volvo priced ;)

    Thanks!

I would say dealer only for VOLVO unless he has arrangement to download the software online with a dealer, which is possible.

Ah yeah, never thought of that. Thanks exador. I'll investigate further :)
