Spraying Rushes. Should we roll?

Just an observation here, sprayed various fields of rushes over the last few months. The wheel marks where the tractor travelled always seem to die much quicker, and the rushes are almost rotted away in the wheelings, compared to the unmarked areas.

    SO,

Would it be worth running a heavy roller over a field, the day after spraying?

I wonder if the extra stress caused by being both crushed as well as sprayed caused a quicker death?

I suppose by breaking them Gallup gets into the system quicker?Sure if it works roll before rather than after no harm to try it

I know a fella that tops them and sprays the field straight away and he reckons it's the only job. I'm not convinced though but haven't seen anywhere he's done.

We roll them here before spraying, defo helps. Travel same way as sprayer. Like you saw the difference on wheel tracks. Think it allows more surface area for the spray to land on and stick to.
