    Hi all,

    Just a quick question.I'm back working in Ireland after a few years abroad. My registration lapsed a few months back and I only reapplied for registration at the end of August. Now I'm waiting on Garda vetting. I'm just wondering as I heard that you cannot get paid (and I haven't been paid yet!) but I heard at school that the dept won't pay you for any hours you have worked before the date the TC confirm your registration. Is this true, even if I was registered before? :(

    there was a similar query here 2-3 months ago ... don't know if the op ever got it sorted though...

    do the dept. know your registration has lapsed? they might still work off your old reg. number (which should be the same as your new one!).

    Thanks for your reply. Not that I know of. All I have been told is that the school have passed on my details and my info keeps bouncing back as I'm not registered. Patiently waiting ;) for the vetting to go through (again).

    I have been issued with my old Teaching Council number. I'll keep you updated.
