Eircom have had to send out over 100 new modems in the last few days due to Firmware faults in the zycel d1000 modems that lead to them being fryed and unusable

Wow, I wonder when the issue will be fixed.

I'd imagine it'd be such a pain to have to sort out.

happened again apparently the problem is on connection they try to update to a new firmware . that crashes the boxs

they now advise to ring up so they can disable the firmware upgrade before connection

I'm assuming this is happening on the F1000/D1000?

I wonder why Eircom don't just turn off the TR069 server until they can release new firmware? Would be a lot easier than disabling it on each individual router.

Where'd you hear about the 100 new modems. I'm highly sceptical about this post.
