Not at all funny. If someone on the European Team had made a crack about Tiger's driving before the last Ryder Cup, I'm sure it would have gone down like a lead balloon.

I hope this is not going to turn into one of the 'nasty' Ryder Cups.

In fairness, I didn't see him say it and it probably came across a lot better in person than in print. But on print, it just seems like a low blow.

I wonder do lads like all these Gala dinners - concerts , are they just a pain in the arse.

Unless - tonight , the lads could actually have a few drinks - " call it team bonding".

Think lads are seriously underestimating this US team - not just saying it because I'm taking a punt.

Can think of 2 US pairing that are serious points on the board - Nobody is a sure thing -

    But, Phil - Bradely
    and Fowler and anybody

Furyk will be handy with the likes of a Mahan or Johnson.

Then what sort of Buba will turn up.
    Spieth serious surprise package.

But I guess you do the same for Europe.

I think Watson should be hard and not play some of the Americans that much at all. But he will.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,871 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

I agree, this is no forgone conclusion!

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,818 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

The problems the Yanks have is the weak parts of team are weak - Europe is strong across the board. Europe have more very strong team options.

Tiger not there is a massive bonus for the Yanks - "what will we do about Tiger issue" - not hanging over them.
