Was in Smyths toys yesterday buying a birthday gift and in not joking but the place was jam packed. 20% off all toys and baby stuff is the culprit. People dashing around with trollies full of toys for Christmas. I'd go as far to say the place was full of festive cheer. It's September the 22nd that's three months until Christmas! Where is my joy?

I'm looking forward to carving my pumpkin for Halloween first. I'll get right on Christmas just as soon as I've finished with Halloween.

Oh yep, my missus went and got all the pressies we needed for our kids and any nieces, nephews, cousins etc while I minded our rascals !

Our 1st time ever having any Xmas pressies bought before Dec, it's actually quite a relief knowing we have it done believe it or not :)

It's beginning to look a lot like...

The middle of fucking September. Enough of this Christmas shite. Although I did see this bus in town (yes, town) on Friday.

Saw a couple of selection boxes in the shop the other day and my first thought was "They couldn't still have them around this far into the year since last christmas?" then I though "Ah bollix, not this shít again"

I love Christmas. It's a time of eating and drinking too much while wearing silly jumpers.

Saw some Christmassy Cadburys bars in the local corner shop last week... on a day where the sun was beating down and it was 25c. F*ck that.

It was the 20% off that did it, we got all the Christmas and birthday presents sorted too - young lads birthday and nephews and nieces birthdays in October, decided we may as well get the Christmas presents out of the way too!

And that's great when it's kept to December, when it takes over a quarter of the year it's getting ridiculous :pac:

    Jesus.............

This is a level of organisation way beyond what I am capable of

(You'll find me hanging around dundrum on christmas eve making a last dash attempt to find anything worthy of a present)

If I want to eat mince pies and drink red wine at 11am on a Monday morning in September while wearing a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer jumper then what harm am I doing?

A wet floor sign for the missus when she's mopping then?

    :P

And all the absolute S**te toys left on the shelves in some smyths! I went to one last year the day before xmas eve and their was nothing worthwhile left. It was madness.

I had a Vtech toy in my hand for the godson, the only thing that seemed anyway plausible as a toy. I was perusing the game section when approached by soccer mom Jane asking me do I plan on taking the Vtech toy that I had in my hand - as she was very interested in it for her son, designer clothes wearing Jack and he would be very upset if he didnt get it from Santa.

    F**k off crazy lady

I much prefer Halloween to Christmas. Mr Pumpkinseeds is great at pumpkin carving, no pun intended, and I'm making strawberry jelly worms for the little monsters, trick or treaters this year and maybe some black coloured toffee apples, if I can be bothered to make the toffee.

Christmas is great but leave the build up until after Halloween.

Oh I don't disagree but delighted we got all the toys done already in Smyths yesterday :)

One of the reps I deal with at work was at a trade show last week, where next years Easter eggs are already being sold in to the supermarkets.

I was absolutely fuming when I saw selection boxes in Tesco a couple of weeks ago. Beyond a joke at the beginning of September. To be honest , it's still too early for Halloween stuff. The twat on the local radio station has started playing Mariah Carey, All I want for Christmas. Thank f**k for the off switch! 1st December is plenty time for the build up to Christmas. Bah humbug!

I wish all the Christmas chat was kept til December but it's not going to happen.

It's around this time that I (reluctantly) start thinking about presents and panicking because I struggle to think what to get for my family.
It's like I've gotten them everything they wanted over the years so when Christmas is approaching, I go blank and panic.

I wrote a rough list last night of ideas and once I did that, I relaxed a little.
Knowing what I am buying is half the battle and I would prefer to start buying things now, so that I'm not rushing round shops in December.

I like to relax and enjoy the festive season, not shopping every single day. BUT I do like popping into the odd shop for wrapping paper and little bits nearer the big day, just to get that festive feeling!

Got both birthday presents and Xmas presents sorted for my 2 girls in one swoop on Friday afternoon thanks to the Smyth's sale, saved a clean fortune!

The girl on the till was telling us that on Friday morning there was a 2 hour queue to pay, madness

Have booked Santa visit for the little ones already ( so not like me)

This year for the first time in 10 years I am getting a break from cooking so actually looking forward to sitting on my arse for once and not spending my day running around family members.

Kinda interested in the 20% discount, that's not bad

    Now that's just silly. :)

The best thing about the end of June isn't summer, it's the point at which next Christmas is closer than last Christmas.

I love Christmas. It's never too soon and I'd talk about it all year round if I could. I think I was an Elf in a previous life because I'm small enough to be one in this one. :)

I used to love Christmas. Then everybody I cared about died. Now its just a case of roll on January. I try not to spoil it for kids and keep to myself for the ever longer season of selfishness. It'll come to you all.

Expresses it extremely well. Float may indeed invest in Christmas trees this year.

I'm spending Christmas with friends in Florida this year. Will there be snow, I wonder?

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

I love Christmas, I get ecstatic come December. I'm the happiest person on the planet.

selection boxes in stores in September makes me really angry though. to the point where I want to slap them out of people's hands in tesco.

leave Christmas until November at least, this is just ridiculous. one aisle for halloween stuff and another for Christmas. ..its bullsh*t and it drives me mental!!!!!
