changing engine size on logbook

    I have a 95 honda civic eg9 and it has a 1.6 dohc vtec in it from a 93 crx del sol i want to know how to i go about changing the engine size on the logbook, can anyone help me with this

    I am nt questioning your reply but is it a engineer's report from a suitabley qualified person not a main dwaler.

    Just out of curiosity - dealer of what?

    Let's say someone has ford and swapped engines. Now it's ford with VW engine. Should he go to ford or VW?

    The car is still a ford unless you manage to change the make and model.

    Make sure you get an engineers report for it too, most insurers won't insure you without one.

    So yet another question - how ford employees would be sure to confirm and certify exact details of engine fitted once they've not enough knowledge about it?

    From the piece quoted above all they need to do is certify the engine number, fuel and capacity. I'm sure Ford can call VW, or any other manufacturers rep, to verify the capacity. This part has nothing to do with safety it's only paper work, that's why most insurance companies require an engineers report.

    ....and if it's a Rover, or Saab for example any Main Dealer will do.
    Some Insurers may look for a Motor Engineer's Report, many are happy with a Main Dealer's signature & Stamp.

    The local council (for amending Engine Details on VLC) only require a Dealer signature & Stamp.
