Help Please with Marantz Amp PM 6005 Rega Turntable

    hi guys could anyone help got my first amp yesterday Marantz pm6005 with I am trying to connect up to mt new Rega turntable ( which works fine) ,
    first I never had an Amp before, my new turntable was connect up to an old hi fi unit, which worked fine.
    I connect up my old speakers to the amp and my turntable , but not getting any sound from the speakers,
    I have checked to see that they are connected the right way, which I am sure they are,
    I made sure the amp in on Phono ,I also tryed playing a cd on dvd player connected to the amp no sound again.
    any help please.

    I know it sounds weird but did you turn on the speakers? The PM6005 has an a/b speaker button on the front. If they are not lighting then no sound.
    After that the amp could be doa. Which is not completely unheard of
