Looking at getting an auto for my sis, she is learning to drive, 3 different instructors have told her to get an auto and |I have to incur.

Drove a mmt auto auris diesel and liked it but I have now been reading that people dont like the semi auto style automatic it has as it hunts for 1st and 2nd in slow traffic and it can jerk at roundabouts. I only drove it on the open road.

Anyone any advice on driving one? Im worried i will spend 11k on the car and then my sis will hate it

There are better autos out there than Toyota's mmt and there are better cars out there than the Auris.

I have an 11 automatic auris and I have to agree with them. The Toyota auto is not the best. It will drive her mad in traffic and roundabouts and going up hills with its constant gear searching. Do not buy there are better automatics out there

The multimode box is best avoided. A Prius/Auris Hybrid would be a million times better and much less likely to give trouble

If you want a sausage&chips good old torque convertor diesel, then the hyundai i30 is a good one. Not sure how they fare on co2 tax, but drove a few rental ones and was relatively impressed.
