    Hi all,
After 'staycationing' for the past few years with our kids (age 4&5) we are starting to look further afield for next summer.

We are looking at the UK or France. Lots of great threads on here regarding the campsites in France. But what about the UK?

Any specific sites in France you would recommend?
Any recommendations for holiday parks or locations in the UK?

We are much more of a drive and explore family than a sit by the pool. We love going out and about. Happy to go ferry or fly and although i have driven in the states im a litte unsure of driving on 'the wrong side of the road' in my own car.

All help and suggestions welcome. Thank you

    Hi

In relation to driving on the right side of the road as long as you have someone with you who's also keeping an eye out you'll be fine. The most dangerous part is when turning left or right at junctions - but if you take your time you'll be fine.

Also you would definitely need a sat nav. We've driven rental cars in the US, south of France - Nice, Cannes, Italy - Lake Garda, Verona and the roads were usually better than here, thankfully we never had any trouble. We're taking the ferry to Normandy next year with our own car but confident we'll be fine.

Just decide where you'd like to go or ask friends for recommendations for your kids age group - but generally anywhere recommended on boards or trip advisor you can't go wrong. The Vendee area in France is popular and the standing stones at Carnac, Mont St Michel are close for day trips. The weather in France might be better, then again it's the luck of the draw.

We also love to sightsee & explore rather than sit by the pool or beach all day.

I got a lovely book in Easons €25 called the family guide - France and it's really helpful, with information for kids & adults - where to eat, what to see & the history of each area, maps etc it's a book we'll be using for years I think !

Have fun planning your next adventure !
