Cod liver oil

Allegedly there is no difference between agricultural cod liver oil meant for horses and cod liver oil marketed for human use. I cant see why factories would produce two difference grades. You can pick up 5 litres of cod oil for around €30 in most co-ops

You interest me strangely. However, I don't think I'm going to drink five litres, that's a *lot* of healthiness. (In case I change my mind, by the way, where's the nearest co-op to, say, Rathmines? I'll be the one with the soft velvety nose and glossy haunches.)

I use the Seven seas cod liver oil brand, but to be honest the next time I might just get a bigger tub of the boots brand of cod liver oil as they are a far bit cheaper and I seriously doubt there's much difference between the two brands :)

    This one?

    http://www.boots.ie/en/Boots-COD-LIVER-OIL-1000-mg-6-MONTHS-SUPPLY-180-capsules_1289900/

180 capsules, 1,000mg, "six months' supply", for €15

Same in the shop as online?

That would be it. My mum recently bought a tub for herself. Not sure of the price in the shop though but it's definitely cheaper than Seven Seas brand.:)

I've avoided Tesco since they booted out Irish suppliers in favour of "international" (ie English) ones.

Not cod liver oil but Omega 3 oil, which is basically a concentrate of the desired components of cod liver oil, EPA and DHA. It's not in capsule form but the cheapest source of EPA and DHA I've ever found. If your your comparing the price with any other cod liver oils, don't compare the weight or volume of the liquid, compare its EPA and DHA content. It's also flavoured. I use strawberry. It's not delicious but I imagine it's tastier than squeezed fish juice without flavouring....

What's the best, and best value, cod liver oil available in Ireland?

I was looking at this Eskimo fish oil, 250 capsules for £20 on amazon.co.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eskimo-Fish-Oil-250-Capsules/dp/B002K5SW4E/ref=sr_1_1?s=drugstore&ie=UTF8&qid=1411218689&sr=1-1&keywords=eskimo+3+fish+oil but rather bizarrely, they can't ship this to Ireland. What's the best where?

The reason for this is that Amazon is UK based.

NI, UK etc are all included as part of the standard zone.

However if we want to ship to Ireland we have to enable Zone 1 which means we could end up shipping the goods to France, Germany etc. therefore it is a risk to offer the free shipping to Ireland and in our case we don't want to charge the correct rate to cover us for shipping to France, plus the ROI customer would not like to pay it either!

You can on Amazon give back refunds but they frown upon this as it looks like your account has issues!

No easy way to circumvent this unfortunately.

No no no. Amazon includes Ireland in its free shipping deals.

    This is different.

Amazon can and do but sellers on Amazon have the zone issues.

No idea why they would not offer the CLO for sale to Ireland - makes no sense.

Ended up getting it in Lidl for 89 cent. Not as strong as the big €15 bottle of pills in Boots, but I can take two instead of one.
